MOSES LAKE HARD WINTER WHEAT (IRRIGATED) – 2005 WSU VARIETY TESTING DATA
- 2005 Hard Winter Wheat data from the WSU Variety Testing nursery at the Moses Lake location averaged 153.7 bu/ac. NOTE: The 2005 nursery was located approximately 5 miles SE of Moses Lake on Rd 3 SE and was under a center pivot irrigation system following potatoes.
- There was very little disease pressure in this nursery. Stripe rust infections were apparent during a 15 June 2005 evaluation; however, it appears that infection impacts were minimal.
- PERCENT LODGING ranged from 0 to 93% with a nursery average of 37%. There was a slight trend of yield reductions with higher levels of lodging.
- Total available Nitrogen for this nursery was estimated at 360#N.
- Stephens is included in the nursery as a yield check variety because it continues to be a highly popular and adapted soft white winter wheat variety under irrigation.
